Code of Conduct

NEWMUN'26 is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and enriching environment for all participants. Our Code of Conduct ensures ethical behavior and meaningful engagement throughout the conference.

Core Principles

These foundational principles guide all interactions and activities at NEWMUN'26.

Respect & Dignity

Treat all delegates, chairs, and staff with respect and courtesy. Discrimination, harassment, or bullying of any kind will not be tolerated.

Ethical Conduct

Uphold the highest standards of academic integrity. Plagiarism, cheating, or misrepresentation of research is strictly prohibited.

Diplomatic Decorum

Maintain professional behavior in all committee sessions, social events, and conference spaces. Represent your assigned country with dignity.

Inclusivity

Foster an inclusive environment welcoming delegates of all backgrounds, beliefs, and identities. Celebrate diversity and promote understanding.

Conference Rules

All delegates must adhere to these rules throughout NEWMUN'26.

Committee Conduct

  • Follow parliamentary procedure and respect the chair's authority
  • Engage constructively in debate without personal attacks
  • Stay in character and represent your country's position faithfully
  • Prepare thoroughly and participate actively in all sessions
  • Respect speaking time limits and moderated caucus procedures

Academic Integrity

  • Cite all sources properly in position papers and research
  • Do not plagiarize content from any source
  • Collaborate appropriately; do not share position papers
  • Represent facts accurately without deliberate misinformation

Personal Conduct

  • Dress in formal business attire throughout the conference
  • Arrive punctually to all committee sessions and events
  • Use respectful language; profanity and offensive speech prohibited
  • No consumption of alcohol, drugs, or prohibited substances
  • Maintain appropriate physical boundaries at all times

Technology & Communication

  • Use technology responsibly during committee sessions
  • Do not photograph or record others without consent
  • Respect confidentiality of crisis updates and backroom directives
  • Follow chair's guidelines on device usage during debate

Security Rules

  • Professional and respectful behavior is mandatory at all times
  • Any form of harassment, misconduct, or disruption will lead to immediate removal
  • Weapons or sharp objects of any kind are strictly prohibited; legal action may be taken
  • Alcohol, drugs, intoxicants, or any illegal substances are not allowed
  • Vapes, cigarettes, nicotine/tobacco products are banned on campus
  • No outside food or drinks inside committee rooms
  • Perfumes are not allowed; deodorants are allowed
  • Confiscated prohibited items will not be returned
  • Security may search or remove individuals suspected of violating rules
  • Serious misconduct may lead to disqualification of the delegation/school
  • Secretariat and organizing committee decisions are final and binding
  • The institution is not liable for injuries; safety measures will be in place

Entry Requirements

  • Student ID is mandatory for all delegates, chairs, and observers
  • Non-host-school participants must bring CNIC or B-Form
  • School delegation advisor presence is mandatory for delegate entry
  • Advisors are requested to report to campus by the specified reporting time
  • Only registered delegates and approved observers are allowed entry
  • Walk-in participants are not permitted without prior registration
  • Punctuality is compulsory; late arrival may result in loss of committee privileges
  • Entry badges must be worn at all times inside the venue

Violations & Consequences

Violations of the Code of Conduct will be addressed according to their severity.

Minor Violations

Examples: Late arrival, dress code deviation, minor procedural errors

Consequence: Verbal warning from chair or staff

Moderate Violations

Examples: Disruptive behavior, repeated procedural violations, disrespect toward delegates

Consequence: Formal warning and potential committee suspension

Serious Violations

Examples: Harassment, plagiarism, academic dishonesty, substance violations

Consequence: Immediate removal from conference without refund
